Sup everyone? Today it’s just Charlotte here, cos I wanted to talk to you about my holiday in Menorca last week, and unfortunately Ranveer had a strange objection to being stuffed into my hold luggage in order to come with me… so I had to go without her and was left with just my mum and my bro.
First things first: normally, my parents both book their holidays well in advance of when we actually go away. But, for some strange reason… this year (when I neeeeded it planned early so I could ask for time off work) they were both very last minute. As a result, our plans were constantly changing and at the end of it I couldn’t remember which hotel we had actually booked or what to expect in each holiday. So you can imagine that ending up in a hotel with life-size Flinstones characters dotted around the place was quite surprising lol! xD Butttt the hotel also had some more adult areas a bit further away from the kids club and the animation team hq, and those were veryyy tranquil most of the time. Living in London, it’s not all that often that you get to hear total silence when you are outside in the middle of the day, because everyone always seems to be busy busy busy. It made quite a nice change to have some moments like that on this holiday, and we made the most of it by spending a lot of time hanging around that area’s pool – although there were of course other moments when little kids and babies suddenly ran near us screaming lol. I let them off though, cos they were still kinda cute... and me and my bro were probably destroying the peace almost as much when we used pool noodles and a lilo to fight eachother haha.
Something else I can’t really do in London but I could enjoy doing in Menorca was something that probablyyyy sounds kinda cheesy or soppy or whatever… but I really like being able to look up at the stars xD Don’t judgeeee, ok? I don’t get to do it often with all the light pollution over here. My mum also had an app on her phone that used our location and camera to tell us if there were any constellations where we were looking, which was quite cool. Well it was cool to me anyway lmao.
But yeah, as well as looking up at the stars lol, another thing we did in the evenings was go out to the marina and walk around the town. It was undeniably touristy, filled with pizzerias and a burger king and all that jazz, but it was still a really nice place to go to because it was just a very pretty place. Also, there was a place which made some amazing crepes and ice cream, and listen - you just don’t say no to ice cream.
It could be argued though that the Ciutadella (the older part of town) was even prettier. It was full of old, quite narrow (and sometimes colourful) streets, and is also home to a beautiful cathedral. On top of that, the Ciutadella is also where the market is held, and because we went there on market day, we were able to go round and check out all the stalls. Even though there was loads of variety in the market, however – clothes, jewellery, bags, souvenirs and other random things – all I bought in the end was a bracelet. Maybe I’m just too picky lol xD
Now before I finish here, there’s just one other quick thing I have to mention; the way I destroyed my bro at pool and table tennis a load of times. Unfortunately though, it wasn’t enough to win overall, but it was veryyy close and he got a bit uncomfortable at times cos he wasn’t expecting me to have such skills. >:D mwahaha
Anyway, what have you guys been doing in your summer holidays? Been anywhere, done anything, or just kinda staying at home on your laptop and phone? Make sure you let me know with a comment cos I would love to hear about ittt :) But for now its bye from me – and next time I see you guys should be with Ranveer so yay! Later peoplessss <3
P.S: As some of you might know, this was actually my second summer holiday this year. The first was to Cyprus with my dad and his wife, and this one, the second, was to Menorca with my mum. Me and my bro just tagged along to both. xD Sooooo it might seem a bit strange that I’m uploading this vlog before the Cyprus one, and I’m sorry about that, but it’s because I’m waiting for someone to send me a cruuucial video to edit into it. I’ll try to get it up soon though, and I hope you enjoy this vlog in the meantime! :)
