Sup world? So it’s just Ranveer here today and that’s for two reasons: a) Charlotte is currently having the time of her life in Cyprus, and b) I really wanted to upload a vlog of the Eminem Concert that I attended on Friday (11th July).
I wouldn’t say that I’m a hardcore Eminem fan, but what I can say is that I like enough of his songs to spend around £80 on a ticket to watch him perform them live. I didn’t want to miss out on watching Marshall Mathers become the FIRST rapper to perform at Wembley Stadium! (Some of my particular favourites include: Without Me, The Way I Am, Rap God, Lose Yourself etc. and I was so happy to hear him perform those exact songs!)
I’ll be honest though, I did spend roughly an hour and a half, the night before the concert, listening to the tracklist of his eighth studio album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2, which was released towards the end of last year. I realised that I was only familiar with three songs on that album, and those were Berzerk, The monster and Rap God. But it was time well-spent, as I came across a few more great songs; I can understand why this album received generally positive reviews!
SO, let’s talk about the actual concert now. I met up with a few friends that were also going to the concert in the morning, and from there we all made our way to Wembley Stadium together. Bare in mind that the doors didn’t actually open til 5pm! So as you can imagine, it got quite boring after the first 30 minutes of waiting in the queue.
Somehow, it finally got to 5pm and the doors opened. Arriving to the venue early was definitely a good idea as I got through the security checks quickly and found myself standing right at THE FRONT. Literally. The EXCITEMENT was unreal.
There were two supporting acts that night from Danny Brown and Odd Future, and I wasn’t very familiar with their songs but I enjoyed both performances nonetheless. Finally, Eminem came out and let me just cut to the chase: He was FRIKKIN AMAZING!!! He opened with ‘Bad Guy’ and was joined to the stage by Mr. Porter. I loved the whole atmosphere and had a great time rapping along to his tracks with my best friend and other fans that I had never met before.
BUT the highlight of the whole night HAD to be when out of nowhere, Eminem surprised us all by calling out Dr. Dre to the stage. I couldn’t believe it! I never thought I’d get to watch a live performance of ‘Still Dre’, ‘Nuthin but a G Thang’ and ‘Forgot about Dre’ but that is exactly what happened!
He then went on to perform his hit singles: ‘My name is’, ‘The real Slim Shady’, ‘Without Me’ and many more before closing the show with ‘Lose yourself’. What a perfect way to end the concert! I can honestly say that this was DEFINITELY the best concert that I have been to so far.
Stay happy. Keep smiling. And I shall see you all soon xxx
