A day out in London!

SUP GUYS? Ranveer here. Charlotte has safely arrived back from Menorca and we just uploaded a new video together, so make sure you check it out! Charlotte will be uploading a vlog from her holiday very soon, but in the meantime, I thought I’d share a bit about what I’ve been up to!

As you all know, we are currently on our summer holidays and will be for another two months. I have been trying my best to make the most of these holidays by going out and having fun with friends but I have been having far too many ‘lazy days’ where I just sit around at home contemplating what to do next.

If you follow us on instagram (@_ourhappyplace_) then you’ll know that a couple of days ago, I decided to take up my friends offer of attending the filming of a TV show called ‘Trust me I’m a game show host’ at the London Studios. The tickets were free so I honestly had no reason to reject her offer. But before our little group made our way down to the studios, we decided to watch ‘The Purge: anarchy’. I’m always up for a horror film! Don’t worry. I won’t give any spoilers but what I will say is that it wasn’t actually that scary. It seemed to be more of an action/thriller kind of film, as I found myself jumping at a few points during it, but I didn’t scream or feel the need to cover my eyes. I get scared very easily so that must mean something. It was just a bit too predictable for my liking, but I thought it was a lot better than the first one. Anyone else agree or am I alone on this one?

After the film ended, we walked around and searched for somewhere to have a late lunch and after spotting a little pizza place, we looked no further. Lunch = sorted. We then made our way down to the ITV studios and actually got there a couple of hours early. The wait was worth it though as we got to sit in the second row from the front.

For those of you that don’t know, the comedy quiz show is basically about two hosts (Sue Perkins and Frank Skinner) that try to fool contestants into believing a series of bizarre and funny facts. The contestant has to try and figure out which host is lying and which one is telling the truth. For every correct guess, the contestant will win a sum of money. Simple, right? I did get quite tired towards the end of the filming, but the hosts kept us entertained the whole time.

It was a great experience, and I can’t thank my friend enough for getting the tickets. I had a good laugh and really want to go again. Hopefully next time Charlotte will be able to come along too! :D xxx

Most Likely to Challenge

WASSUP HOMIES? lol
As always, it's Charlotte and Ranveer here and today we wanted to help you get to know us a little better, so we filmed the "Most Likely to ___ challenge"!

Before we turned the camera on, we weren't sure how this challenge would go down. We'd played along to stuff like this before when we watched other YouTuber's videos and always seemed to do alright... But this time the pressure was ON cos it was our video xD

In the end, we agreed on quite a bit because some of the answers were definitely undoubtable. Most likely to pee their pants laughing? Ranveer. Most likely to laugh in the wrong situation? Ranveer. That girl legit seems to laugh twenty-four sevennnnn! She even rolls around on the floor sometimes because something is just too much for her to handle - aka a real life ROFL. One of these days there will be a puddle left behind... xD

Other ones that we quickly agreed on were things like the laziest (Charlotte), trip up on a red carpet (also Charlotte... Curse my clumsiness!), and the funniest (Ranveer, although we also agreed Charlotte had the funniest face lol).

Buttttt it was actually pretty interesting seeing when our answers were different too. Why couldn't we just agree that Charlotte was most likely to become a movie star ayyy? And was it out of sheer modesty that we both nominated ourselves to be the "most likely to go to jail"? Or was it that we are both secretly criminal masterminds behind each other's backs? Hmmmmm >:)

Overall though, I think we were okayyy dokayyy at this challenge. Do you think you would be as good as us at this challenge if you did it with your best friend? Better, worse? Leave a comment telling us, we would love to hear it! :)

For now though, peace out world. Charlotte and Ranveer out. We will see you next time!

Hyper Japan Haul!

SUP guys? It’s Ranveer, and I’m back for a part 2 of my Hyper Japan Story. In the previous blog post, I wrote about the event itself. SO now, I’m going to tell you about the awesome things that I bought from Hyper Japan.

I’ll be honest. The first few things that I bought were actually food items, but with good reason: Hello Panda. That is all. Lol, I then continued to look around the stall for other Japanese snacks/sweets and I came across different flavoured kit kats. I’m used to seeing the regular kit kats in local stores and sometimes even ‘cookies and cream’ or ‘orange chocolate’ flavoured ones. But here, I came across some interesting flavours: Hot Japanese Chili, Wasabi, Red Bean Sandwich, Citrus Golden Blend, Strawberry Cheesecake, Strawberry and Green tea. I decided to only choose a few and those happened to be the latter three of that list. But now I wish that I also bought the other flavours!

After passing through the gaming area, we found ourselves next to the Nintendo Store and so obviously i HAD to get something Toad-related. (Toad is a character from Mario Kart that resembles a mushroom. I’m sure you know who I’m talking about, but if not then check out the pics below.)

After buying the T-shirt, I didn’t feel as though there was anything else that I needed to get. BUT THEN, I walked past a stall that were selling bowler hats. I have been meaning to get myself a bowler hat for a long time now and so I thought that this was the perfect time to do so. These weren’t just any ordinary bowler hats though....they had ears! I went for the safe colour option of black and I can’t wait to wear it out.

We then walked past a stationery stall set up by the shop ‘Art Box’ and I couldn’t resist buying a few little things from here:

Now I know what you’re thinking. ‘That’s not stationery...that’s poo and two little pills’ and if you thought that then you’d be both wrong and right. The ‘poo’ is actually a pencil sharpener and the two little pills can be pulled out into pens. Speaking of pills, how amazing is Troye Sivan’s single ‘my happy little pill’. In love with that song right now. But anyways, I also bought two sets of stickers and some decorative tape for my smashbook, from that stall and I will definitely be using them up very soon.

I would end the ‘Haul’ there, but my sister actually bought me a lil somethin’ somethin’ whilst she was wandering around without me. She has clearly been paying attention to me when I talk to her because she bought me an awesome bracelet with Toads all over it. (Or maybe she noticed my Toad plushies collection in the corner of the room. You can’t really miss it!) My other sister bought me bubblegum and you may be thinking that it doesn’t sound all that great but this bubblegum is special, and I’ll tell you why in three words. Pi-Ka-Chu :D

Thanks for reading. I hope to see some of you guys next year for Hyper Japan 2015 because I will definitely be there! Much Love xxx

VLOG: Hyper Japan 2014

Sup World? It’s Ranveer! :D Charlotte is on her second holiday of the summer in Menorca...and I’m still at zero for my holiday count, lol. But that’s not the point of this blog. On Friday (25th July), my sisters and I (along with a couple of friends), went on a little adventure to Earls Court, London for ‘Hyper Japan 2014’, which is the UK’s biggest Japanese Culture Show.

I have always been really interested in Japanese Culture from a young age and that came about from watching anime and Japanese dramas, and then listening to J-pop, and then researching about the fashion. After attending Hyper Japan last year, I promised myself that it would become a tradition for me to attend this annual event every year, (just like MCM Comic Con), and so I did exactly that!

Finding the venue was hardly a problem and we passed through the entry very quickly, which was fortunate as I really don’t like waiting in queues. (Yet I find myself doing exactly that for concerts, lol. It’s so worth it though!) But as we entered the venue, there were quite a lot of people walking around and we weren’t sure where to start. So we just walked towards the first stall that we saw and they happened to be selling swords.

As always, gaming fans were able to get a first look and ‘hands on’ time with the latest Nintendo games. My sisters definitely took advantage of this and were actually glued to the Nintendo area for a good half an hour. So I decided to let them carry on with that whilst I walked around to see what else was going on, with my friends.

After a couple of hours of wandering around; playing with different gadgets and buying a few accessories, posters and other items for ourselves, we decided that it was time to take a look around the food court. There was a large variety of stalls selling Japanese food, hot and cold alcoholic drinks and soft drinks, teas, candy, ingredients, snacks, sweet treats and so much more. Last year, I tried okonomiyaki, so I wanted to be a bit different this time, but I actually didn’t end up buying a proper lunch. Instead, I filled myself up with some Hello Panda snacks. Oh dear.

As some of you guys may know, I LOVE green tea. Absolutely love it. I was so happy to see so many snacks that were green tea flavoured...so AWESOME. I can’t wait to try the green tea flavoured kit kat! Let’s all take a moment to appreciate the person that made such beautiful creations. My friends decided to try the takoyaki and octopus ball pieces, whereas my sister went for the more westernised option of chicken. I have been meaning to try shaved ice for so long now, and I thought that it would have been the perfect opportunity to do so at Hyper Japan. But I didn’t actually get around to doing that.. maybe next time?

As expected, there were many people walking around with a range of different outfits, and it became somewhat of a game to us to try and guess which character people had decided to cosplay as.

There was also a performance by Anna Yano, who is an extremely CUTE singer and fashion model, I believe. Overall, I had a great time and am happy with the things that I bought. I hope you all had a great day too, whether you were at Hyper Japan, or out and about, or even chilling at home. So all that’s left to say is BRING ON HYPER JAPAN 2015! :D xxx

Things We Like!

Sup guys? Hello, salut, hola, privet! This is Charlotte and Ranveer, and todayyyy we want to talk to you about some of the things in the world that we like (and love).

First things first: let's get the girly stuff out of the way. Selfies. Shoes. Checking ourselves out in the mirror. Shopping. Nail varnissshhh. You know what we're talking about ;) . In factttt, Ranveer actually has some serious skills with nail varnish and I'm welllll jellll; she likes to do loads of cool designs such as colour gradients and leopard prints. Then there is me and I'm just trying my best not to shake too much when I paint my right hand nails in a single colour lol. Maybe one day I will learn? Still, when I manage to do it properly, it's a good feeling hehehe.

Another thing that was high up on both of our lists was hanging out with friends. They really do mean the worrrrrllld to us, and we seriously can't wait til we go on holiday with some of them in a few weeks time. (Ahhh the excitement!!!) If you guys are reading, feel the lurvvvv... <3

It was funny that a lot of the other things on our lists turned out to be food. xD Ice cream, pizza, costa… mmmm. How could we not include those things though? I mean, picture a dairy milk mcflurry. There are only three words to describe that shizzle: swirly icecreamy goodness. Hehe xD  Butttt fortunately, we don't just like foods that are as unhealthy as the stuff we just listed, cos otherwise we would be hella big. For example, Ranveer definitely loves her bananas and green tea. Ohhhh, and another fortunate thing for our health is that we lurvvvv dancing around to kpop, playing Just Dance and doing some other random sports. I mean, did you know that when you watch our videos you’re not just watching Ranveer and Charlotte, but you are in fact watching Ranveer: a qualified life guard, badminton player, kickboxer, dancer… and Charlotte: someone who does, sometimes, believe it or not… do exercise (such as ice skating, scuba diving and table tennisssss). xD haha!

Some otherrrr likes we had in common were penguins, making YouTube videos (of course!) and Disney. Although, how could anyone not like Disney? Like... seriously. Can't be hating on Donald Duck and Goofy, eeesh.

Overall though, our lists did differ quite a bit in some places. Whilst I love to read, play Xbox games and draw, Ranveer would much rather watch Pokemon or Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Klearly, she kan't resist seeing those krazy things they get up to on KUWTK. Don't judge, k? lol

Soooo as I'm writing this I'm realising that I really could just write more and more about all of the things we like.  And then some more xD . There is so much we didn't get to talk about here or in our video that I wish we had the time and characters to discuss but sadlyyyy we don't and so I need to stop writing now!!! We hope you guys have an awesome week, and that you get to do a load of things you like during it. :) Make sure to leave a comment telling us about the things you like: are they similar to ours?? We'd love to hear from you guys. For now though, peace out! xxx

P.S: Ranveer said in the video that she likes making people laugh. She manages to do that with her jokes all the tiiiime, but unlike her I didn't include that on my list for a good reason... when I make people laugh, it's normally cos I just walked into something or fell over right in front of them! Ouchhh I'm so clumsy. xD lol

How we dance at parties!

Sup world? Charlotte and Ranveer here.

SO first things first: as of this year, we just finished our final year of sixth form, meaning that aside from studying, uni applications and general stress, there is one other thing that we had to do a lot of... Dancing at 18th birthday parties! xD Wanna see how we did it? Hehe

Onto the real shizzle. ERRBODY knows that when you dance, you make some kind of heat-of-the-moment decision about what moves you are gunna use, so it's a good idea to know how to do more than just a sort of awkward side stepping and gangnam style. For that reason, we like to have loaaadsss of moves in our arsenal. That way, we can fire them out at full speed and not worry about running out of ammo. xD

First up we got the ones that most people know about, like 'raising the roof', moonwalking, shuffling... Pretty much errbody knows what they are and it's just fun to mess around with them sometimes. Then we've got things like Irish dancing, Bhangra, Russian dancing, and the 'awkward white girl', the moves that were taken from around the world to showcase some of the best out there (sorry awkward white girls lol, but it's ok: Charlotte is one too). After those, you have dance moves that don't really seem to have a name but get seen quite a lot. Ones that we like to call things such as 'opening the curtains', the 'bouncy ball', and 'driving' because that's just what they look like to us. Although we must admit, we still do them quite a lot :3 .

Finally, there is one move that will guarantee turning heads. It will blow minds. It will absolutely amaze people. This move... Is the 'freestyle'. Or should we say, the cray cray freestyle where errbody does some completely random shizzle, throwing their arms and legs all around the place and trying to not look like they are being attacked by a swarm of wasps whilst doing it. That said, we are definitely still guilty of this. Who isn't? How can you not use it when you know that people will be way too busy staring at your MINDBLOWING SKILLS to judge lol.

Speaking of mindblowing dancing though, we know that there are hella loads out there and the ones mentioned here were just a small selection of our personal favourites. Do you think we missed any crucial ones out? Also, what are your faves? Make sure you leave a comment telling us! :))

For the moment though, it's bye from us. Later, peace out, luv uuuu... that's all folks! Lol yeah, we'll see you soon xxx

P.S: We really wouldn't call ourselves dance experts or anything, but it's undeniable that we do like to bust out some cray moves sometimes (like in this video), and occasionally... We ace them. For example, Ranveer's Bhangra and Russian dancing was prettayyy gooood. Not to mention Charlotte's 'awkward white girl' moves; they were on point!! Lol but seriously, please don't think we're convinced we're some kind of amazing dancers by us making this video - it was just for funnnn :)

Road trip to Southend!

Sup guys? SO here is yet another blog post from just Ranveer. Charlotte is still out in Cyprus but don’t worry, she’ll definitely be back in the next blog post. I promise!

For those of you that don’t know, both Charlotte and I have just finished school and will be going off to university towards the end of September/beginning of October. That means that we have roughly 2 to 3 months to do whatever we want!

I’ll be honest though, I haven’t really been doing many “interesting” things since my exams finished. BUT today, I decided to go on a little adventure with a few close friends to the beach! That’s right. We went on a little road trip and drove down to Southend! The journey wasn’t as long as I had expected it to be, but maybe that’s because we kept ourselves entertained throughout it. We spent the majority of our time singing along to a handful of our favourite songs from some CDs that my friends made for me for my 18th birthday.

oh, aren’t they just the best!

The weather was surprisingly nice today: the perfect amount of sunlight with an almost clear, blue sky, which is not very common for a British summers day. The moment we stepped out of the car, I felt like a little child again. I just wanted to run all over the sand, with a big-ass ice cream in my hand. (I didn’t mean for that to rhyme but wahey! Bonus points for unplanned poetry)

We headed straight towards the theme park, Adventure Island, and went on a couple of rides each before finding a place to eat lunch. We spent the rest of the day chilling out and relaxing by the pier, followed by a game of minigolf, which I won! I still have the scorecard to prove it, lol.

Hopefully I didn’t bore you to tears with this post but I honestly think that if you live fairly close to Southend but have never visited before then you should definitely give it a chance! If that didn’t convince you then perhaps these images of my beautiful ice creams will, haha! Yes. I did have two.

Nom Nom Nom ^_^

Stay cool. Stay safe. And I will see you very very soon!! xxx

VLOG: Eminem Concert @ Wembley Stadium (July 11th 2014)

Sup world? So it’s just Ranveer here today and that’s for two reasons: a) Charlotte is currently having the time of her life in Cyprus, and b) I really wanted to upload a vlog of the Eminem Concert that I attended on Friday (11th July).

I wouldn’t say that I’m a hardcore Eminem fan, but what I can say is that I like enough of his songs to spend around £80 on a ticket to watch him perform them live. I didn’t want to miss out on watching Marshall Mathers become the FIRST rapper to perform at Wembley Stadium! (Some of my particular favourites include: Without Me, The Way I Am, Rap God, Lose Yourself etc. and I was so happy to hear him perform those exact songs!)

I’ll be honest though, I did spend roughly an hour and a half, the night before the concert, listening to the tracklist of his eighth studio album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2, which was released towards the end of last year. I realised that I was only familiar with three songs on that album, and those were Berzerk, The monster and Rap God. But it was time well-spent, as I came across a few more great songs; I can understand why this album received generally positive reviews!

SO, let’s talk about the actual concert now. I met up with a few friends that were also going to the concert in the morning, and from there we all made our way to Wembley Stadium together. Bare in mind that the doors didn’t actually open til 5pm! So as you can imagine, it got quite boring after the first 30 minutes of waiting in the queue.

Somehow, it finally got to 5pm and the doors opened. Arriving to the venue early was definitely a good idea as I got through the security checks quickly and found myself standing right at THE FRONT. Literally. The EXCITEMENT was unreal.

There were two supporting acts that night from Danny Brown and Odd Future, and I wasn’t very familiar with their songs but I enjoyed both performances nonetheless. Finally, Eminem came out and let me just cut to the chase: He was FRIKKIN AMAZING!!! He opened with ‘Bad Guy’ and was joined to the stage by Mr. Porter. I loved the whole atmosphere and had a great time rapping along to his tracks with my best friend and other fans that I had never met before.

BUT the highlight of the whole night HAD to be when out of nowhere, Eminem surprised us all by calling out Dr. Dre to the stage. I couldn’t believe it! I never thought I’d get to watch a live performance of ‘Still Dre’, ‘Nuthin but a G Thang’ and ‘Forgot about Dre’ but that is exactly what happened!

He then went on to perform his hit singles: ‘My name is’, ‘The real Slim Shady’, ‘Without Me’ and many more before closing the show with ‘Lose yourself’. What a perfect way to end the concert! I can honestly say that this was DEFINITELY the best concert that I have been to so far.

Stay happy. Keep smiling. And I shall see you all soon xxx

The Accents Challenge

Sup peoples? Charlotte and Ranveer here.

Now here’s the thing: we like accents. A LOT. We often do them randomly when we are talking to each other and our friends, but when we are on camera its a whole other ball game. Also. We’re kinda crap at them. xD

Some of our accents definitely turned out better (or worse!) than others. It was actually really hard to do them using only the phrases! We just wanted to say things like “barbecue” and “kangarooooo” the whole time.

The highlight of the video though: the German accent. Or was it Indian? Ranveer definitely wasn’t sure lol. Well she was. She even said it! Twice... But she was wrong, so so wrong. Emmmbarrraaasssssinnnggggg!!!

Long story short, we really hope no one gets offended by our sillyyyy attempts - they honestly were just meant as attempts and nothing more. We also hope that you guys enjoyed the video! Anyone for a part two?

2 Girls 1 World Cup I FIFA 14

Sup world? Charlotte and Ranveer here.

Right. So we decided to play FIFA 14. Don’t judge! Ok, you can judge... cos we are experts. Ohhhhh yes. Well, Charlotte is at least. Ranveer didn’t even know circle was to shoot, she was pressing square the WHOLE time. lol

SO this was the first video of our 2 Girls 1 Game Series, and hopefully there are many more videos like it on the way, because it contained some seriously jaw-dropping gameplay as you can see from Ranveer’s amazing facial expression above. *imitates* =O

But let’s talk about the match itself. The first half was comparatively slow, with pretty much even possession and only a small percentage of shots on target - but after half-time things certainly got rolling. Two goals, two corners, players rolling around on the floor, and some amazing celebrations!!! Unfortunately the camera cut off at the end though, so you missed the best celebration of all; when Charlotte won. hehehe

OH but that goalkeeper though; Lloris. Lloris, Lloris, Lloris... Is that how we say your name? Well anyways, you were such a great goalkeeper. You didn’t run out randomly like Ranveer’s did. Although to be honest, we didn’t reallllyyyy get to see if you were any good or not, because Ranveer had NO SHOTS on target. Peak times. Still, we like you. ;)

We hope it was as fun for you watching as it was for us playing! If there are any games that YOU want to see us play, make sure to leave a comment below or on the videoooo.

See you next time! xxx

Superwoman & Humble The Poet - #LEH MV Reaction

Welllllllllll….. sup world? Charlotte and Ranveer here. We’re back with yet another reaction video; but with a good reason. It’s Superwoman and Humble the Poet’s LEH. Nuff said.

We have been waiting so impatiently to watch this music video and so we just HAD to film the reaction asap. Every time we saw it in our YouTube feed we had to physically force ourselves to not click the link and to just keep scrolling… fortunately we made it til today. We promise though, the next video won’t be a reaction. ;)

Before we got started on the main analysis though, we would just like to point out those shirtless men at the start of the video. HOH. Can we pleeease just take a moment to appreciate those muscles? Perrrfection! Also, is it hot in here? lol

OK. Alright. Yes. Moving on to the real shizzle! xD We both thought the song was really catchy, it had a good beat and we were still humming along to it for ages after we watched the video.  The lyrics were also cool, and we were able to sing along to the chorus “omg, lol… you ridiculous as hell” by the end of the song, which we liiiiiked.

Another thing we liked about this video in particular was the positive messages they wrote on their hands at the end. Things like “be yourself”, “chase your dreams” and “do what makes your heart happy”, well they just bring a smile to our faces cos here on OurHappyPlace that’s what we are aiming for. J  Although, “grab milk”? Interestinggg haha…

Aside from that, we were really impressed by the dance moves that Superwoman and Humble the Poet busted out during the MV. They broke it down and we couldn’t help but think “OOOHHH they got skilllssss!”. This, combined with the catchy song and fun video, made for a really great MV overall. We can’t wait to see more like this from you guys! xxx

PSY - Hangover feat. Snoop Dogg MV Reaction

Sup world? Charlotte and Ranveer here.

                                       https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HqEsMnWblEU

SO we know we are kinda late reacting to this MV, but neither of us had watched it yet or listened to the whole song in full. Now we kind of wish we hadn't because this video gave us all the symptoms of a real hangover - headache, nausea, tiredness - and much more.

We must admit though, there were sooommmme good parts to this song and video. The beat was quite catchy for example, and we found ourselves moving along to it at times. Also, PSY and Snoop Dogg had matching outfits. How cute was that lol? But the best part for us HAD to be just after the 3 minute mark when they did that slow, almost romantic skipping with the old ladies. What was that even about?! Too funny. xD

Yet sadly, overall... this video... this video though. Was it just us, or was it more like Snoop Dogg featuring PSY than the other way round? And seriously, what the hell was up with those lyrics?! After we filmed the video we looked them up and  although we know NOW that they say "caking and baking, raking the cheese", at the time all we could hear was "hangover, hangover, hangover ... bacon and cheese ...  knees", which made them seem even worse than they already were. Sorry writers. You need to sit the fudge down and think about what you did.

The biggest question we have about this video though, is where was the dance?! ERRBODY could dance along to Gangnam Style with those iconic moves. Gentlemen at least had some shaking of hips for us to go along with - oh those hips ;) - but this... the closest thing it had to a dance was twerking! You ain't gunna catch us copying those moves any time soon. So, next time, PSY, please keep it PG?

Whatever happens though, twerking or no twerking... "Daddy" should be err... interesting.
