GCSEs + A-levels: Grades & Advice

Hey guys!! HAPPY SATURDAY!! Ranveer and Charlotte here. So it’s September now, which means that summer is officially over for this year and the schools are opening up again. Boo! Charlotte and I (Ranveer) both finished school back in June and so we’ve still got a few more weeks of chilling out before we start university. As we just completed our A-levels, (and our GCSEs 2 years ago) we wanted to give you all some tips and advice, and just some motivation to get you through the school year.

These exams that you will have to sit at the end of the year are SO IMPORTANT. Once you’ve completed your GCSEs, you have to move onto A-levels and these will be the subjects that YOU have chosen and weren’t forced to do like Maths, English, Double/Triple Science (and ICT for me). It may be that you really enjoy these specific A-level subjects or that they are required for the course/degree that you want to apply for at university. BUT, if you don’t achieve a high enough grade then there’s a possibility that you won’t be able to study this subject at A-level. When I was choosing my A-level subjects, I was told that I had to get a B or better in GCSE Maths to be able to study it during sixth form. So please take your GCSEs very seriously.

We give 8 key points that are really important to take into consideration when going to school and revising for exams. The advice we give in the video really worked for us, and it showed in our grades (which are revealed towards the start of the video).

I’m not sure how the education system works in other countries but these tips definitely apply to everyone: Keeping yourself organised, doing you work the day you get it, making a timetable, staying healthy, revision sessions, going through as many past papers as you possibly can, NOT staying up all night to do your revision and just STAYING MOTIVATED throughout the year because once your exams are finished, you will have a really nice, long and relaxing holiday to do whatever you want!! (We go into a lot more detail about these points in the video)

Also, if you have any questions then please either leave a comment here or in the video or tweet us @_ourhappyplace_ and we will definitely reply. We could even make another video if there are specific topics that you want to hear us talk about. Trust me, we’ve been through it all: Stress, depression, anxiety, mood swings, friendship problems. But we got through it all and it made us stonger individuals. So if you have any problems then we would love to help you out!

Don’t forget to also have fun and make the most of this year with your friends. Now that we’re going off to university, we won’t be able to see our friends from secondary school as much as we’d like to.

So keep smiling and I know you will get through this year of hard work. xxx
